Walking Out the Word

GOD PAUSE: If you are like me, you take time --- probably about every day --- to read your Bible. We find comfort and blessing as we draw near to God. But there's something else the Bible should do for me and you. David prays in Psalm 119:133 “Direct my footsteps according to your word. Let no sin rule over me.” In other words, what I read in my Bible I am to walk out. It is the guide for my behavior. Dear Papa, I want my steps to be ordered by Your words. And I don't want even one sin to have dominion over me. Transform my life according to the wisdom of your words. Amen and amen.

The Adventure of Today!

GOD PAUSE: Good morning to you! I trust you had a restful night's sleep, getting ready for an adventurous day of God's good things. As you're about to experience the gift of today, I want to read a precious promise from the Lord found in Psalm 119:114. David says there “You are my place of quiet retreat, and your wrap-around presence becomes my shield as I wrap myself in your word!” Dear Papa, You are truly our oasis. In You, we find refreshing, calmness and needed peace. And thank You for your warm Presence that surrounds and envelopes us throughout this day. What a wonderful joy to walk with You. To live in such sweet relationship. Amen and amen.

What God's Words Will Do!

GOD PAUSE: How much do you truly love My words? Do they fill your heart throughout the day? Do you take seriously everything I say to you? My words will make you refuse to bend your morals when temptation comes. They'll be sweeter than honey to you. My words will guide you in your choices and decisions. Your pathway will become clear. Even when broken and overwhelmed, they will breath life into you again. So determine in your heart to walk out whatever I say to you. Then you will have the edge over your enemies and your life will be filled with gladness. (based on Psalm 119:97 – 112).

Where Worry Needs to Go

GOD PAUSE: In the minutes we have together each day, I mostly share with you something I believe the Lord speaks to me first. This morning I simply want to ask you this ---- What keeps you up at night? I mean, what is pressing on your mind and heart when the lights go out and you're lying on your bed, trying to sleep? I want to encourage you with 1 Peter 5:7 that says “Pour out all your worries and stress upon Him and leave them there, for he always tenderly cares for you.” My friend, you can lay that problem. That worry. That seemingly insurmountable situation at the feet of Jesus. And leave it there. Be blessed as you do that right now.

Seeing the Beauty in Today

GOD PAUSE: A very BIG “Good Morning!” to you! I pray you have a day just packed full of God's presence and blessings. And guess what? You and I have a lot to do with the kind of day we enjoy. I was just reading a few minutes ago in 1 Peter 3:10 “For the Scriptures tell us 'Whoever want to embrace true life and find beauty in each day must stop speaking evil, hurtful words and never deceive in what they say.” Peter had just mentioned about not retaliating but instead speak a blessing over someone who hurts us with their words or actions. Dear Lord, we need your help to speak words that result in the good life you have for us. We choose to do that. In Jesus' might name. Amen.

The River Awaits You!

GOD PAUSE: How deep do you want to go in Me? How far are you willing to go? Out of my Presence, there's a river of life. It continually flows. Don't be satisfied where you are in ankle deep water. There's more. Much more. Knee deep water is waiting. Even waist deep water. But, oh, there is the water even deeper. You can swim in it! As I asked the prophet Ezekiel “Do you see it?”, so I invite you to go deeper. Just be willing to go. I'm waiting for You to step out into the River. Life --- real life --- awaits you. All you need is in the River. Come and enjoy. (God in Ezekiel 47).

Who You Belong To

GOD PAUSE: “Good Morning!” How was your Thanksgiving ? I had a great time with a lot of the family. Such a happiness to belong! I was reading a few minutes in 1 Peter 2:9 that “We are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” Dear Papa, may we never loose the wonder of belonging to You. You claim us as Your very own. So may we broadcast Your glorious wonders everywhere we go. In Jesus' mighty name. Amen and amen.

Happy Thanksgiving!

GOD PAUSE: For the past two or three days, I've just been rolling over the story of Jesus healing the 10 lepers. And I get the whole thing of being thankful, seeing only one of them back to do so. But a beautiful thing is that Jesus “crossed the border” to go into an area that Jews would not do. And to reach out to a group of people that were untouchable, outcasts. So this Thanksgiving, I won't be like the 9. But seeing the depth and compelling love of Jesus to me, makes my gratitude even more wonderful. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours as you think about God's wonderful goodness to you, too.

My Thanksgiving List

GOD PAUSE: How are you doing today? I'm doing pretty good, excited about this season of Thanksgiving for sure. Like you, I have so very much to be grateful for. Pretty close to the top of my “Thanksgiving List”, I would have to put the Bible. I think I can relate to David's words in Psalm 119:1 when he says “You're only truly happy when you walk in total integrity, walking in the light of God's word.” Dear Papa, my joy and happiness is so connected to loving and living out what your Words show me. I just want to pause and thank You for my Bible. In its pages, I find You and myself too. And everything I need. Amen and amen.

A Very Jealous Lover!

GOD PAUSE: A very BIG “Good Morning!” to you, my friend! I just want you to know that you are greatly loved by a wonderful Papa. And the Spirit of God within You is so jealousy in love with You, too. God says in James 4:5 “The Spirit that God breathed into your hearts is a jealous Lover who intensely desires to have more and more of you.” Wow! Imagine that! He will have no other rival. It's all or nothing. Dear Lord, we fully surrender to You. May anything that horns in our relationship with You be taken away. Fully in love with You. Fully yours. Amen and amen.

Anointed Leadership

GOD PAUSE: I was reading something this morning about leadership in the Bible. Proverbs 28:2 says “A rebellious nation is thrown into chaos, having one leader after another. But leaders anointed with wisdom will restore law and order.” So much of how a nation and a family goes will depend on its leadership. When things are in constant flux and confusion is the rule of the day, then leadership is to blame. Dear Lord, everything does rise and fall on leadership. In our nation and in our families. We so need your anointed wisdom to guide and help us. May it be so in Jesus' mighty name! Amen!

Peppermint Socks

GOD PAUSE: Tony Evans says the we should all wear peppermint socks. That way it won't taste so bad when we put our foot in our mouth! You know, we all struggle or face the challenge of harnessing what we say. We read in James 1:19,20 “Take this to heart. Be quick to listen, but slow to speak. And be slow to become angry, for human anger is never a legitimate tool to promote God's righteous purpose.” Dear Lord, my tongue is a very powerful thing. And I need your help to harness it. May I use it to bless. To encourage. To build up. Always to advance your purposes. Amen and amen.

You're a Person of Faith

GOD PAUSE: I want you to know that you are a person of faith. And that means a lot of different things. While faith is certainly connected to the miraculous, it is also a big part of making your decisions. Decisions that shape who you are and what you will do in life. Talking about the faith of Moses, Hebrews 11:26 says “He found his true wealth in suffering abuse for being anointed, more than in anything the world could offer him.” Dear Papa, by faith, my friend and I choose your anointing more than anything. We choose to walk in your ways, to surrender to your direction through each day. Your path is always best, even when there's a price to pay for walking it. Amen and amen.

All Is Well

GOD PAUSE: “Good Morning!” my friend. I want you to know that God knows all about your feelings of being treated unfairly. Things not panning out like you thought they would. Feeling like you've somehow been “passed over” while others aren't. In your confusion, anger and pain, you want answers right now. But please know that God is still with you. In the Bible, David went through the same feelings. In Psalm 73:17, his help came when he says “Then I went into your sanctuary, O God, and I finally understood.” Dear Lord, when my friend and I spend time in Your Presence, you can bring perspective and meaning to what's going on in our lives, helping us to know that You are in control. And things

Total Healing!

GOD PAUSE: Praying in the Holy Spirit is praying the very mind and will of God. Another way of praying the will of God is to pray the Word of God. This morning, a friend sent me the Bible verse found in 3 John verse 2. It says “Beloved friend, I pray that you are prospering in every way and that you continually enjoy good health, just as your soul is prospering.” John is praying that his friend's physical health would match his spiritual health. You see, God is concerned for our spiritual, physical and emotional health. Papa, you care about the whole person. Blood of Jesus, be released to bring complete, total healing in body, soul and spirit. That is your heart and your will. Amen and amen.

Lift your Hands in Thanks!

GOD PAUSE: I am always loving and kind, and my faithful love will never come to an end. I have set you free to belong to Me! When you had no true direction, filled with despair and in a very dark place, I saw you. You cried out to Me, I came to your rescue. I led you out to freedom, snapping every one of your chains. I smashed the heavy prison doors and shattered the steel bars that held you back from Me. Yes, I set your free! I spoke the words “Be healed!” and you were healed. So lift up your hands and give thanks to Me for My miracles of mercy! (based on God's Words found in Psalm 107).

God's Autobiography

(9) Ken Hiser GOD PAUSE: A very wonderful and powerful thing happens when you and I take the time to read the Bible. When you keep in mind that it is God's autobiography, you begin to see what the heart of God is really like. What he cares about the most. And we get a pretty clear picture of what He wants of you and me. This morning, I was reading in Ezekiel 18:23 that says “Do you think I like to see the wicked die?” asks the Lord. “Of course not! I only want him to turn from his wicked w...ays and live.” God's heart is not that a single person would die in their sins. But that we would all repent or turn toward the Lord, letting him change our way of thinking and living. Heavenly Father, I

Meditating on my Bed

GOD PAUSE: You know, the Bible has a lot to say about being silent and reflecting. David says in Psalm 63:6 “I lie awake on my bed, thinking of You and reflecting on how you help me like a father.” It's a very good practice before you get up in the morning to just think about God's goodness to you. Speaking to the Lord about how grateful you are that His Presence goes before you in your daily tasks and responsibilities. And even before you fall asleep at night to reflect on how the Lord has worked and been good to you. Dear Papa, may you be the first and last thing we think about each day. And all through our day too. We love you. You are everything to us. Amen and amen.

He Brought You Out! Hallelujah!

GOD PAUSE: There's a universal word that rings in every language and culture. It's the word “Hallelujah!” It literally means Praise the LORD or Yah (a shortened form of Jehovah). Psalm 105:37 says “God brought them out, laden with silver and gold, and from their tribes no one was feeble or a pauper.” Oh, my dear friend, the LORD has brought us out of sin. Brought you and me out of a dead end life. He has delivered us out of addiction. And from slavery to things not pleasing to Him, or good for you. And just like God did for Israel, He lovingly provides all we need like “heaven's bread falling from the sky.” You and I have every reason to shout “Hallelujah!” What an awesome Papa and a wonderf

Bragging Rights!

GOD PAUSE: “Good Morning!” my friend. I want to share something with you that I read a few minutes ago. It's about what I call bragging rights. Proverbs 27:1,2 says “Don’t brag about what may happen tomorrow because you have no idea what it will bring. Let someone else praise you; compliments are always sweeter from a stranger’s lips than from your own.” The fact is, you and I can make plans for tomorrow, but are not in control of things like we think. God is. And even the things we do well, He gives us the ability to do them. So, the Lord should get the credit, right? I say, give the Lord the bragging rights. Wouldn't you agree? Be blessed as you do that. When you make God look good, well,
