A Righteous Dude!

GOD PAUSE: Good Morning, my friend. In the past few days, I feel that our Lord is taking me down a path of searching in the Bible to answer a question --- What does righteousness look like? I mean I want to know what God says about it. And I want to become what it says. Well, I've just begun the search and I find in Genesis 6:8 “But there was one person whom the Lord could not let go of --- Noah --- because this man pleased him.” Dear Papa, like Noah, I want to walk close to you. I have found grace by looking into your eyes as he did. And I truly desire to please you. So, I need Your help to obey what you speak into my life, day by day. Amen and amen.

Your Weapon of Victory!

GOD PAUSE: “Good morning!” my dear friend! Did you know that the Lord has given you and me a powerful weapon? We are encouraged to use it spontaneously at times. Victory is guaranteed when we use this weapon. This instrument of war literally enforces judgment on all your enemies. And here's the bottom line --- this is given to everyone, all of us, to use. And it's called praise. “Hallelujah! Praise the Lord! It's time to sing to God a brand-new, spontaneous song so that all his holy people will hear how wonderful he is!” (Psalm 149:1). Dear Lord, victory is ours when we pick up and use the weapon of praise! Hallelujah!

How Great is Our God!

GOD PAUSE: This morning I was reading some in Psalm 148 which has the title “The Cosmic Chorus of Praise.” David talks about how all of creation praises God in its own way. I encourage you to find Lou Giglio's “Stars and Whales Praise God” on Youtube. It is truly amazing. David then encourages you and me to join in the universe's praise chorus to the Lord. “Let them all join in with this orchestra of praise. For the name of the LORD is the only name we raise! His stunning splendor ascends higher than the heavens!” (Psalm 148:13). Let's you and me finds ways to give God praise today ---- and every day. He is so worthy!

I'm Going Over Home!

GOD PAUSE: Well, I'm feeling a little nostalgic this morning. I'm remembering as a teenage boy hearing the words “We're going over home!” It meant walking from my Paw-Paw's house to my great-grandmother's house for dinner --- a table spread such wonderful food! The extra long table surrounded by family! Revelation 19:9 says “Then the angel said to me 'Write blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!' And he added, 'These are the true words of God.” Well I've taken God up on that invitation. And I so look forward to company that will be there. How about you? I'm going over home!

Sometimes You Need to Walk Away

GOD PAUSE: Proverbs has been called the book of unfiltered wisdom. It gives you and me such practical, down-to-earth advice to live by. I was just reading in Proverbs 30:33 where Solomon says “For as churning the milk produces butter, and as twisting the nose produces blood, so stirring up anger produces strife.” So the picture is simple. Pressing milk causes butter to come. Pressing the nose makes it bleed. And pressing angry words result in strife and a severed relationship. Sometimes the best thing you can do is stop pressing. Just walk away and stop churning it up. Dear Lord, we need your guidance and help. Especially to avoid further damage or pain in our relationships. Thanks for your

God's So Good to Me!

GOD PAUSE: Did you have a good Christmas? Michele and I had a great time with a lot of our family. And our son, Jeremy, made the best smoked brisket I believe I've ever had! God is so very good! Especially in how He treats you and me. So, I was reading this morning a verse in Psalm 145:8 where David says “You are kind and tenderhearted to those who don't deserve it and very patient with people who fail you. Your love is like a flooding river overflowing its banks with kindness.” Dear Papa, our lives flood over with your goodness to us. Even when we mess up or fail in some ways, you still love us. Help me and my friend continue to walk in the light of who you are. Amen and amen.

Lord, Give A Song!

GOD PAUSE: Well, “Hello!”, my friend! And a very BIG Merry Christmas to you! I hope as some point you'll be able to connect with some of your family and friends and have a joyful time. But I also think about you who are hurting at this season. I was reading this morning in Psalm 144:10 where David says “My God, I will sing you a brand new song! The harp inside my heart will make music to you!” Dear Papa, give a song to the heart that is hurting right now. I know that somehow You can come in and do that. Let your song be played in the mighty name of Jesus! Amen and amen.

What Interests God

GOD PAUSE: I'm sure you're like me in that sometimes the Bible gives a sort of realignment in your life. God gives you and me a kind of wake up. Well, this morning was one of those times. God was saying “You are interested in religion. I am interested in people.” God says in Zechariah 7:9,10 “Treat everyone with fairness. Show mercy and tender concern to one another. Do not take advantage of widows. Do not mistreat children whose fathers have died. Do not be mean to outsiders or poor people. Do not make evil plans against one another.” Dear Lord, your message is clear and practical. Help me and my friend to walk it out day by day. Amen and amen.

Desperate and Overwhelmed

GOD PAUSE: I was reading something David said about the Lord when he was in a very dark time in his life. Things had come up against him in such a way that he was trapped, hemmed in. And he saw no way out. No way of escape. It looked like it was over for him. But David says in Psalm 142:3 “For when I was desperate, overwhelmed, and about to give up, you were the only one there to help. You gave me a way of escape from the hidden traps of my enemies.” Dear Papa, You are my “way maker.” I confidently look to you for help. And you won't disappoint me. Amen and amen.

Constructive Criticism

GOD PAUSE: So, how are you doing today? If you're just getting started, I pray your day goes well. If you're winding down, I hope you have many things to be thankful for. I want to share a Bible verse with you that's found in Psalm 141:5. It says “When one of your godly ones corrects me or one of your faithful ones rebukes me, I will accept it like an honor. It will be as healing medicine that I swallow without an offended heart.” Dear Lord, help me and my friend learn to accept constructive criticism from the heart of one who truly loves us. Those are words of life and blessing, even when they feel uncomfortable or painful at the time. Thanks for loving us that much. Amen and amen.

Make Your Move!

GOD PAUSE: “Good Morning!” my dear friend. I want to share with you a powerful principle from the Bible. Zechariah 1:3 says “This is what the LORD Almighty says: 'Return to Me,' declares the LORD Almighty, 'and I will return to You,' says the LORD Almighty.” I recently talked with a lady who hasn't been to church in a very long time. But you could tell that God was stirring in her heart to make some move back toward Him. So here's the deal with God --- when I make even a small step toward Him, He makes some very big steps toward me. Whatever your small step to God looks like today, go ahead and take it. Make your move. And watch God come toward you. Because that's God's heart. Be blessed!

God's Got You!

GOD PAUSE: This morning, I just read through Psalm 139. The title right at the tops says “You Know All About Me.” This part of the Bible has always been such a comfort and strength in my life. David says in verse 5 “You've gone into my future to prepare the way, and in kindness you follow behind me to spare me from the harm of my past. With your hand of love upon my life, you impart a blessing to me.” Heavenly Father, my future is alright because you go ahead of me. You bless me with your kindness every day. And you protect me in every way from harm. Thank you for the peace that gives me today. Amen and amen.

God Always Keeps His Word!

GOD PAUSE: “Good Morning!” my dear friend. I just want to remind you of something that's so very necessary, especially right now. God is faithful to keep His promise to you. That which He has spoken to you, He will do --- but in His time, not yours. I was just reading in Habakkuk 2:3 “For the revelation awaits an appointed time. It speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it. It will certainly come and will not delay.” Dear Papa, my friend and I need patience. A patience that waits in absolute hope and expectancy that what You have said to us, You will do. Amen and amen!

God, Be My Everything!

GOD PAUSE: “Good Morning!” my dear friend. Do you have a favorite song that just seems to tell how you feel about the Lord? I'll bet you do. I know I do. It's called “Be Thou My Vision.” Reading Proverbs 30:9 reminded me of that song this morning. It says “May my satisfaction be found in you. Don't let me be so rich that I don't need you or so poor that I have to resort to dishonesty just to make ends meet. Then my life will never detract from bringing glory to your name.” Dear Papa, be my everything. May I and my friend find our full satisfaction in You alone. May everything else pale in comparison. Amen and amen.

What Heaven is Like

GOD PAUSE: I so miss the conversations I'd have with my mother-in-law about what we've been reading in the Bible. And I miss her quick responses when I'd ask “How you doing, Alice?” She'd say “I'm here, aren't I?” But let me tell you what she does see right now. Revelation 7:17 says “For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd. He will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.” C.S. Lewis once said “The fact that our heart yearns for something Earth can't supply is proof that heaven must be our home.” I think he was a pretty smart guy, don't you?

The Trap of Fear

GOD PAUSE: Do you have a favorite book of the Bible? I would have to say that mine is probably the book of Psalms and also Proverbs. Proverbs has been called the book of unfiltered wisdom. So much can be said in just one short sentence. I was just reading in Proverbs 29:25 that “Fear and intimidation is a trap that holds you back. But when you place your confidence in the Lord, you will be seated in the high place.” Dear Lord, there is such a tendency to be afraid of what others might say, or think or even threaten to do. Help us to trust You. It puts us in a high place, away from fear's reach and power. Amen and amen.

Overtaken by Blessings!

GOD PAUSE: “Good Morning!” and welcome to a brand new day! You know, I just love that fact, don't you? Even as I say that, the sun has yet to come up. God will bring you and me a day full of His goodness. I was reading this morning about Israel going through a very rough patch in their lives. And God promises them in Amos 9:13 “The days are coming,” declares the LORD, when the reaper will be overtaken by the plowman and the planter by the one treading grapes. New wine will drip from the mountains and flow from all the hills.” My friend, better days lie ahead of us! The blessings and goodness of God will overtake us. So get ready to live your best days. In Jesus' mighty name! Amen and amen!

Your New Name

GOD PAUSE: In our minute together right now, I want to tell you how much you mean to the Lord. How much He loves you. Hundreds of years ago, when a couple fell in love and were going to marry, a white stone was given to the bride with a pet name written on it. It was a thing of intimate endearment and love. And guess what? Revelation 2:17 says that God will give you a white stone in heaven, with His special name for you on it! It will be known only to you and your heavenly Papa. Dear Lord, you blow us away with Your wonderful love! And being with You in heaven is the icing on the cake. Amen and amen!

In Charge and Coming Back!

GOD PAUSE: You need to see your world's events in light of who I AM. I AM Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End. I AM in charge and rule over it all. In these troubling times, I promise to pour out My Spirit upon you. He will empower you and show you things yet to come. Multitudes of people will be in the valley of decision --- whether to believe in and follow Me, or not. I also lovingly care for all of my churches, aware of each and every one of them. I am walking among them, making My Presence known. Behold, the time is near. I am coming with the clouds and every eye will see Me. Be ready. Be ready. (based on the prophecies of Joel and Revelation).

Busy at Work!

GOD PAUSE: Good morning! I hope you slept good last night. I want to share something really cool that I just read in my Bible. Psalm 127:2 says “It really is senseless to work so hard from early morning till late a night, toiling to make a living for fear of not having enough. God can provide for those who love him while they sleep.” So see, the Jewish day begins at night or evening. So, while you are sleeping your loving heavenly Father is busy at work, preparing good things for your day when you wake up! Dear Papa, thank you for always taking such good care of me and my friend. Even while we are asleep. Amen and amen.
