I Cherish You!

GOD PAUSE: You have heard it said that “I love you.” But in reality, I would prefer you hear that “I cherish you.” I cherish you so much that my love for you is like a flooding river, overflowing its banks. In spite of all you've done, I've kissed your heart with my forgiveness. I heal you inside and out. I even supercharge your life to soar like that of the eagle. And I am patient with you, even when you fail. I don't look at you to find fault, nor do I hold a grudge. Higher than the highest heavens, my loyal love for you towers above it all. I know all about you, inside and out. Look into my eyes and know that “I cherish you!” (based on Psalm 103)

I'm Still on the Throne!

GOD PAUSE: I AM the great I AM. And I still sit enthroned as King over it all. Yes, even over you. I see your sleepless nights. I hear your cry and I see your salty tears. I know well your feelings of depression, loneliness and abandonment. But know this --- I am about to arise and show you my tender love. My hands that once formed and crafted the heavens will also protect and keep you for myself. In the brightness of My glory I will restore you. I will respond to your prayer of brokenness and need. You will not die, but live. Know that your life is not yet finished. The appointed time has come for my prophetic promises over you to be fulfilled. (based on Psalm 102)

Your Inner Circle

GOD PAUSE: Good morning to you, my dear friend! For our minute together today, I want to ask you a question --- who is in your “inner circle?” I mean who are the people you pull in close to your heart? The ones you allow to influence and impact your life. I want you to listen to David's “inner circle” in Psalm 101:6. “My innermost circle will only be those whom I know are pure and godly. They will be the only ones I allow to minister to me.” That pretty much narrows the field, don't you think? David wanted those closest to him to be people whose hearts were in pursuit of pleasing and following the Lord. Dear Lord, may my friend and I be selective about our inner circle of friends, too. Oh ho

God's Password

GOD PAUSE: You and I live in a world of passwords, don't we? And if you've like me, I sure don't need another one to write down or remember. But as I was reading in Psalm 100 today, I found that there is a password that gets me into God's marvelous presence. God says He is always ready to welcome and receive me. But here's the password ---- it's called praise. Psalm 100:4 says “You can pass through His open gates with the password of praise. Come right into His presence with thanksgiving. Come bring your thank offering to Him and affectionately bless His beautiful name.” Dear Lord, we do enter your gates with thanksgiving and praise today. And thank you for always be ready to receive us. Ame

Stop Stabbing People

GOD PAUSE: I can find it easy to criticize or condemn what I hear or read on social media. But the reality is this --- what is sometimes hidden or private comes out in the open. And the tragedy is that it creates an atmosphere or world that is so very unhealthy and damaging. Just this morning I was reminded in Proverbs 25:18 that says “Lying about and slandering people are as bad as hitting them with a club, or wounding them with an arrow, or stabbing them with a sword.” Dear Papa, you have called me and my friend to be different. To live different. We need your help to live above the fray. And may the atmosphere not invade and infect us. Amen and amen.

Ramp Up your Prayer Life

GOD PAUSE: You and I have the greatest weapon, the most powerful tool to change situations and circumstances. It is called prayer. As sovereign and powerful as He is, God chooses to move through our prayers. And it is time for you and me to take prayer more serious than ever. To ramp up our prayer life. Jesus tells you and me in Luke 18:8 “God will give swift justice to those who don't give up. So be ever praying, ever expecting. Yet when the Son of Man comes back, will He find this kind of persistent faithfulness in His people?” May you and I get to place of powerful, persistent prayer again. Everything depends on it.

GOD PAUSE: You know, you and I are made by God to live in community with others. We are created and fitted by a loving heavenly Father to need each other. We are not meant to do life alone. And that means we don't have all the answers and aren't always right about things as well. I was just reading in Proverbs 26:12 where Solomon says “There's only one thing worse than a fool, and that's a smug, conceited man always in love with his own opinions.” Dear heavenly Father, help me and my friend not to get so stuck on our thoughts and opinions. We don't want pride to shut us out from the wisdom and input of others that we so desperately need. Amen and amen.

The Battlefield of the Mind

GOD PAUSE: You know, none of us are exempt from the barrage of seemingly endless thoughts. Busy thoughts about our “to do” list or agenda are a constant reality. Anxious thoughts about the future can be a continual challenge that we fight. And then there are the negative, unhealthy thoughts from the enemy or our own minds that try to invade and conquer us. And all can seem to be out of control at times. But hear the Word of the Lord found in Psalm 94:19 that says “Whenever my busy thoughts were out of control, the soothing comfort of Your presence calmed me down and overwhelmed me with delight.” Dear Papa, may it be so in my and my friend's life today. Amen and amen.

Things That Will Keep You Going

GOD PAUSE: My dear friend, I want to share two or three things that not only hold it all together for you today --- they will also strengthen, encourage and bless your life. Paul talks about them in Philippians 2:1. He says “Look at how much encouragement you've found in your relationship with the Anointed One! You are filled to overflowing with His comforting love. You have experienced a deepening friendship with the Holy Spirit and have felt his tender affection and mercy.” Oh dear Father, may my friend and I truly let these words soak in today. Lord thank You for the relationship we have with Jesus, your overflowing love and our friendship with Your Spirit. Amen and amen.

The Curse Can't Land

GOD PAUSE: In our minute together right now, I want to share something with you about ugly, undeserved words. You know what I mean --- words spoken against you that seem to have the potential to harm or damage you in some way. I want you to hear what God says to you and me, found in Proverbs 26:2. “An undeserved curse will be powerless to harm you. It may flutter over you like a bird, but it will find no place to land.” Dear Papa, we are so grateful for Your protection over us. Those mean-spirited, ugly words spoken against us will not and cannot land on our lives. Hallelujah! But Your words can and do. So may I and my friend rest in your words about us. Amen and amen.

Walls & Hiding Places

GOD PAUSE: Good morning, my friend. I want to share something with you right now that the Lord reminded me about. It's about a couple of things that must happen before a person really comes to know God. David says in Psalm 89:40 “You have torn down all my walls of defense and have made my every hiding place into ruins.” We all put up walls of defense between us and God. And we have special little hiding places that we think keep us at a distance from Him. But God is bigger than any wall and stronger than any hiding place. Dear Lord, we have many people we know that need to know You. So blood of Jesus bring down those walls and destroy those hiding places! May the path to You be level and pla

Grace Is So Daily!

GOD PAUSE: In our special moment together right now, I want to say something about the grace of God. It may be hard to define, but I look at God's grace as His willingness and ability to reach down and help us. To give you and me exactly what we need, when we need it. And, His grace is daily. It's like a fresh batch of it begins with each sunrise and is sufficient for the entire day. I like what David says about it in Psalm 89:23 --- “I will be strength to you and I will give you my grace to sustain you no matter what comes.” Oh dear Papa, my friend and I may not know what today holds, but we do know this --- your supply of grace will be all that we need. And even right now we thank You for

Enemy Alert!

GOD PAUSE: I have found that the teachings, the principles of the Bible, the Word of God, are pretty radical. And frankly a lot of times, they smack me upside the head quite a bit. For instance, I see that God really does take notice about how I treat or respond to others in my life --- especially to those who don't like or treat me well. In Proverbs 24:17 says “Never gloat when your enemy meets disaster and don't be quick to rejoice or be happy if he falls.” Dear Lord, all around me, I see and hear the hatred people have toward each other. And while it can grieve my heart, I know it can invade into my own heart and life. And I need your help to always stay in love, even to those whom I thin

It's Time to Come Home

GOD PAUSE: I want to say something to you about setting up markers in your life. Actually the prophet Jeremiah talks about them in his book in the Bible. He says “Set up markers along the road, put up guideposts so you can find your way home. Pay attention to the highway and return by the same way” (Jeremiah 31:21). So here's the heart of God for you right now. Even when you have wandered away from Him, hear His call to come back home. There are markers for you to follow to get back to Him. Just simply start taking some steps, changing your direction. God is waiting with open arms. It's time to come back home.

I Want to Know You More!

GOD PAUSE: So here we go with a very precious word from the Lord found in Psalm 86:11. “Teach me more about You, how you work and how You you move, so that I can walk onward in Your truth until everything within me brings honor to Your name.” Dear Papa, my life is not about me. It's about You! And from the day I began my journey with You, You have given me a deep desire to please You. So I want to know how You work and how You are moving in my day. I want to be so close to You that each step forward brings honor and glory to You, making You shine. Together, let's do life side-by side. In Jesus' mighty name I pray. Amen and amen.

Jesus, Pour It In!

GOD PAUSE: “Good morning!” to you, my precious friend. It's such a blessing to be able to spend this minute with you right now. I was reminded this morning about the importance of having peace in life --- and the only place or way to get it. The apostle Paul writes in 2 Thessalonians 3:16 “Now, may the Lord Himself, the Lord of peace, pour into you His peace in every circumstance and in every possible way. The Lord's tangible presence be with you all!” Oh dear Papa, do that in my and my friend's life today. Even right now. Peace of Jesus, be poured into us. Invade and saturate our lives. May your presence be felt so strong. In Jesus' mighty name! Amen and amen.

He Makes All the Difference!

GOD PAUSE: Having the Lord right beside you on your journey makes all the difference in the world. You won't be exempt from the struggles, the challenges or even the pain that others will go through --- but here's the deal. You have a deep well of provision from which to drink. Hear the word of the Lord found in Psalm 84:6. “Even when your path winds through the dark valleys of tears, you dig deep to find a pleasant pool where others find only pain. God gives to you a brook of blessing filled from the rain of an outpouring.” Oh dear Papa, how grateful we are to have you on our life's journey! It means everything to me and my friend. Amen and amen.

Speaking Life, Changing Atmospheres!

GOD PAUSE: An amazing thing happens when you open you heart and life to the reality of God. When you have taken the Lord into your life as your shepherd, your leader, His Presence inside you changes the atmosphere --- everywhere you go. And you become a messenger, a conveyor of life-giving words to a world desperately in need of hope and encouragement. Proverbs 23:16 promises you that “When you speak anointed words, your lips shall speak with my lips.” Just imagine this --- the words coming out from you are God's words. It is as though He is speaking, not you. So go forth today --- every day --- prepared and ready to change your world and create an atmosphere of God's Presence in it. Big God

The Planting of the Lord!

GOD PAUSE: Hear the word of the Lord today. You are the planting of the Lord! He has miraculously plucked you up out of the kingdom of darkness and transplanted you into the kingdom life of His dear Son. Because you trust in Me and make Me your confidence, you will be like a tree planted by the stream. Your roots go deeply down into Me. So you will not fear the heat nor the drought. I will be your provision and your nourishment while others wither and die. No matter what you face, your fruit will always be there, always dependable for those who you desperately need it. So just be My planting. And enjoy your connection with Me. (based on Jeremiah 17:7,8)

Fresh Oil!

GOD PAUSE: How are you doing so far today? I pray you have a day just packed full of God and His good things! I just want you to know this right now --- you have God's anointing on your life. Just listen to what David says about it in Psalm 92:10. He writes “Your anointing has made me strong and mighty. You've empowered my life for triumph by pouring fresh oil over me.” Wow! What a promise, right? Heavenly Father I thank You and I pray your anointing over me and my friend right now. We are up and ready for anything! You empower us for victory! Let your fresh oil pour over us right now. In Jesus' mighty name! Hallelujah! Amen and amen!
