Unrequited Love

GOD PAUSE: Love that is one-sided is not complete. That's because love is meant to be returned. And that's true about God's love, too. God loves the whole world --- unconditionally and undeniably. But God wants --- yes, even greatly longs --- to be loved in return. In the Bible, John is described as “the disciple Jesus loved, following right behind” (John 21:20). John loved Jesus so much that he felt the dust of His sandals as He followed Him. John was not like some of a “favorite” to Jesus. He just loved Jesus so much in return. John would be the one leaning on his chest at the Supper. Lord, may we find ways to love you in return. Amen.
