The Garbage Dump

GOD PAUSE: I have a very odd looking, kind of tool in my office at the church. It's a curved, pointed hook with a handle. It's actually an instrument that's used in a third world country to pick through the garbage to find food to eat. It's hard to imagine in our world that there are people so needy and hurting. Yet Psalm 113:7 tells us “God lifts the needy and poor out of the dust and rescues beggars from the garbage dump.” Oh Lord, no one is worthless or unimportant to you. All lives matter. Even when we were most hopeless and helpless you reached down and pulled us up. You gave us new life. And now we go with you on that same rescue mission. Empower us today in Jesus' mighty name. Amen.
