The Well

GOD PAUSE: This morning, I began reading the book of Jeremiah. And right up front, I clearly see why he is known as the weeping prophet. His heart --- like God's --- is broken over the choice the people have made. The Bible describes it in Jeremiah 2:13. “My people have committed two sins. They have forsaken me, the spring of living water and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water.” God alone has the water of life. He alone can satisfy the deepest needs and longings you have. Any place else you go will be broken and empty. Dear Lord, we come to you today. You have the words of life. You have all that we need. We leave behind everything else we've tried. And we drink from your supply. Amen and amen.
