The "Rest" called Prayer

GOD PAUSE: This morning I was reading about a guaranteed “rest” that God offers --- even today --- for us to enjoy or benefit from. He even tells us to take advantage of that rest. And God's “rest” causes you and me to stop working, trying to make things happen in our own strength or ability. And where is that place of “rest” God offering to us? Hebrews 4:16 tells us. “Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in our time of need.” Dear Papa, you have already given us our place of “rest” --- it means stop trying to work to make something change or happen, and to come and lay it down at your feet. Praying is our “rest” today. Trusting you to do what we cannot. So we will let you work while we rest. Amen.
