GOD PAUSE: So today, I begin my Bible reading journey through the story of Job. And once again, I am blown away by the immense pain and suffering of a good person. But I am even more blown away that in his pain, he didn't lose his perspective. In all the catastrophe, Job kept his compass. Surrounded by what he didn't know, he held on to what he did know. Having lost everything, Job 1:20 says “At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship.” Dear Lord, my friend and I may go through stuff in life we don't like. We may experience things we don't understand. But help us to hold on to You, our constant, our everything. Amen.
